that guy steve on the C4D group page said that people like reading about deviations . normally i don't write a lot but i'll explain a few things this time and see how it goes
this pulls together everything i've learned so far and several things i tried for the first time . it seems each thing i make follows those rules
i've always used white light . on this i made it a slight peach
each of the images on the sides of the lighters are 3D pieces (and 2 fractals) i've made and posted here , except the purple one with the "dirt" on the bottom (right of center front)
i started with only the 3 lighters in the center so i could show all of the angles . then i went crazy with adding one more and one more ...
the final render only lasted 10 minutes !
i used a "gear" spline object inside of an ExtrudeNURB to make the main gear pieces . stupidly , when you render them they don't apply the material to the sides because those are generated on the NURB level . (it doesn't work even if you apply the material to the NURB itself) so i added two pieces to the sides and one in the center of the gears just to add a little more texture to them . then i forgot to copy that to the other lighters so only the one with the cap off has those extra pieces
to get the sizes of each object , i closed one eye and held the lighter between me and the screen and sized the objects to fit ancient Egyptian secret ... tell no one !
the title came to me first . then i create this to represent the title's meaning to me
